Our History

On Septemeber 16, 1987, the first Bible study of what would become the new church began. IBCM missionary pastor Jim Thompson of Princeton, IN, in cooperation with area IFCA churches, was the planter charged to establish this work. Approximately twenty-five people attended the class at the local nursing home in this southern Indiana town. In January 1988, the new group of believers rented a downtown storefront building in Dale. By April they began to conduct Sunday worship services.

The church started a ministry for children called "Just For Kids." In March 1991 the program began, and by the end of April, the church's attendance grew to over fifty. The church rented an apartement located behind the storefront to accommodate Sunday School and a nursery program. In the fall of 1992, Dale Bible Church celebrated its fifth anniversary. Joined by its sponsoring church Townsend Bible Church, Newburgh, IN.

The regular services continued to see increased attendance, so the church acquired property at the edge of Dale and began a building project. The new facility was completed in July 1994, and the church held its first service there that same month. The church dedicated its new building and graduated from IBCM on the same day, July 31, 1994.
